HELP! How do I keep the bookmarks as cookies and not with the LMS

May 29, 2013

Is it possible to keep the bookmarking in Articulate Studio as cookies and not with the LMS? I am publishing it to LMS because we need to track it.  Yet I'm hosting it on our own website since users aren't company employees.

Is it possible to keep the bookmarking as cookies?

Hi there Danielle,

Which option are you currently using for the resume feature in your presentation(s)?

  • When running in LMS, ignore Flash cookie: If checked, the course will always resume by using the LMS’ bookmarking feature (if your LMS supports it). If unchecked, your content will resume using the LMS’ resume data, but will use the Flash cookie if the LMS does not support resume.

If you disable that option, it should use the Flash cookie, instead of the LMS for bookmarking.

You can find this option by opening your presentation in PowerPoint and clicking on the "Articulate" tab. Once here, click on "Player Templates" and select the "Player Controls" tab. The option you'll want to disable is listed under the "Miscellaneous" section on the right side.

It should look like this:

Try disabling that option and see if that works for you.

Let me know if you have any trouble with this, or any questions.

Thanks Danielle!

Christine
