Hidden Slide is Not Really Hidden
Jun 24, 2011
Hello Sports Fans,
I am testing a process I want to roll out globally to all of our courses, bu have run into a small problem I can't seem to figure out.
In my test presentation, I have 5 slides. One of the slides in a quiz. I have branched the user to go to slide 5 if they 'pass' and slide 4 if they 'fail'. In the Slide Properties, I have hidden the slides 4 and 5.
When I 'pass' the quiz and branch to slide 5, if I hit the back arrow, it drops me to the 'failure' slide. I would have thought that being both slides are 'hidden', it would have taken me to slide 3 which is the quiz slide. I am trying to make this this idiot proof because as we all know, they are out there and WILL find this glitch!
Any ideas? I'm stumped....
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave
hidden just means hidden in the sidebar, I would lock slide 4 and 5 or set branching so slide 5 goes to slide 3 on previous in slide porperties

Hey Phil,
What does 'locking do'? I've never used that funciton before.

locking stop them leavng the slide using the player controls, you can still leave by using a hyperlink

I see......so I can lock a slide and make it to where they have to pick a hyperlink which directs them to where I want them to go?
Good stuff!

One thing to keep in mind about locking is that the user can't use the back button to go back to the previous page - once they are on the locked page they are basically stuck unless they click the hyperlink.
If anyone knows of a way to prevent this from happening when using locking - I'd love to know how it is done. I may be missing a setting someplace.
Hello,
I would use a graphic or shape and hyperlink that. Something that says it will take you back to a previous slide.
Just a thought,....

Smart thinking - that could work.
