How do I publish a course with the correct name in Scorm Cloud?

Aug 13, 2013

Hi there,

I have tried to publish a course to Scorm Cloud and run into trouble with the name of the file. I understand I have to find the index_lms.html file in the root folder of your published output - but I have no idea how to find the "root folder"... Can someone help me?

Thank you,

Pam

Hi Pam! When you publish to the LMS format you should find the index_lms.html file located in your course output folder specified in the Publish location section of the publishing dialog. (The default is  My Documents\My Articulate Projects) Presenter will create a new folder in that spot containing the index_lms.html and all the other course files.

The folder name will be something like 'Your Course Title output'

For uploading the course to SCORM Cloud you want to use the .zip option that is available after you publish locally.
(Or you can also manually create a zip file - just make sure it contains everything in your output folder.)

This .zip file is what you upload to SCORM Cloud.

Hi Mike - this is what I did but I received an error from Scorm Cloud when I tried to upload the zip file. When I researched scorm cloud and articulate, I found this article (http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=q5jkew3n17fh) which tells me to "enter the URL to the index_lms.html file where it will reside on the external server"... that is the part I don't understand - how do I find the location on the "external server"?

Which LMS format are you publishing to? AICC or SCORM?  That article is for AICC content and in order to work with SCORM Cloud an AICC course has to be hosted on external server that is accessible by SCORM Cloud (i.e not behind a firewall, etc.)  Once you know the url of that online location, that is what you enter into the "Filename (URL)" field.

If you don't have access to an server for hosting your course you can use something like Dropbox or Google Drive.

Are you just testing the LMS tracking or looking for a place to host your courses?
