How to reduce lag between slides?

May 27, 2011

I am working on a course with a number of questions.  Each question has two to five choices.  Since the course is not being scored and the client did not want to see the Quizmaker frame, I opted to use only Presenter.

I understand that Presenter preloads two slides into cache and the next two linear slides transition without a delay…  but there is a noticeable lag when the navigating to any other slides.  For example, if I click on choice A and then choice B, the transition between slides is seamless, however if I click on choice A and then choice E, there is a lag.  The lag would probably not be as noticeable if the background changed from slide to slide, but it doesn't.

There is no video and these are very small swf files.  The problem is the same whether played from a local or network drive, so using a preloader probably won't help.  (I tried a preloader anyway and observed no difference.)

Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Ron

I would ensure you are using master slides and transfer as much replicated material (your background) onto your masters.

Articulate publishes the masters seperately to the slide, this will speed up the transition, but really there is no other way to ensure it runs seamlessly

Otherwise it is careful planning to work within the three slide limit

Hope this helped

I'd like to revive this topic as it relates to Presenter 360.

I'm experiencing a lag between slides when I update courses and republish them from Presenter 2015 to Presenter 360. It's as if I have selected fade for slide transitions, but I have not. I'm looking for static images to be static from slide to slide and not fade in and out between slides. Any tips?
