Images Cropped in Presenter, Publish Conversion Problem

Apr 16, 2019

Hi All,

We're one of the original Articulate presenter customers. Our clients are still loving it after all these years. Long ago, there was a problem with publish results of images-cropped-in-PowerPoint. That problem has resurfaced with a recent update to the software. Images cropped in PowerPoint have only a small chance of showing up properly. Most of the time, the entire image shows up in the cropped dimensions...so the images look squished/compressed/distorted.

If we crop outside of PowerPoint (or save the cropped image to an image file, and re-import and get everything in order) it publishes okay. We're using this workaround for now, but we have hundreds of courses that we do updates on and when we republish we are hoping we don't need to somehow find the many cropped images and re-import them.

Thanks

Hi Alyssa!

1. We are using the very latest version and update of Studio

2. Publishing to Articulate Review exhibits the problem, as well as publishing to the LMS (Absorb LMS) via SCORM 1.2

3. Oh my goodness. I realized I had only tested on Chrome. (My apologies.) I just checked and it works improperly in Chrome but it works just fine in Edge.

Hey Kendall!

I tried recreating the issue on my end, but I haven't had any luck so far. Here's a screen recording of my testing.

Would you be willing to share your project file with our team so we can try and spot the difference? If that works for you, you can upload your file privately to our support team here. We'll give it a test and let you know what we find!
