Importing SWF plays in Preview not when published

Dec 20, 2011

New to the forum and still a lot to learn about Articulate 09!

I have a SWF file that has internal links to small flv clips. When I add the SWF file (title course.swf) to the presentation and preview it the file plays properly. When it's published it doesn't play at all. I nkow it has to do with the link to the folder all the FLV files are kept. I have tried to move the folder local and still same issue.

Another thing I tried is to lauch a player which will run that same file but it's in HTML and I can't get the link to work properly feeling it's due in part to restrictions our ITS department has placed on the systems. Not allowing activeX to automatically run. I have disabled the pop-up blockers which at least helped a little but...then again when I publish it I have the same problem.

Any advice is appreciated.

(Oh..one more not quite on this topic but same module. The test was developed in XML. It calls for the layer to run it but I can't seem to find a way to make it work in artuculate either!)

Thank you in advance...

When you publish you need to move the folder that contains the SWF contents into the Data > SWF folder. If you are inserting using Insert Flash Movie then when you publish articulate will rename the swf file fm_title course.swf. When you copy in the contenst folder you will also need to rename it to match eg fm_title contents_content.

Thank you. I missed the renaming and will need to know exactly how to access that. Now..the trick will be I have two folders which hold all the FLV content. I'll need both of those folders on that drive.

One dumb question...after re-reading it...will I need to rename course.swf  and move the folders to the server. Correct?
