I have tried several times to insert a swf (using the Insert ribbon in Articulate) and it never does work! I've changed the parameters each time and published but no luck. Can anyone help?
Thanks for reaching out here, Rusty! Are you viewing the HTML5 output for Presenter '13? If so, that's the culprit--Flash (SWF) files aren't supported in Studio '13 HTML5 output.
If that doesn't match what's going on in your file, let me know, and we'll keep digging!
Hey Keskes- thanks so much for sharing your file with me!
I published and uploaded it to Tempshare to test it on the web. The swf sky background plays in both the Flash and HTML5 versions for me. Take a look at it over here and let me know if you see something different.
However, in the HTML5 version- your swf character does not appear. Is that what you're asking about? If so, this is because transparent videos aren't supported in HTML5 for Storyline 2. This comparison chart is a great reference for what supported in the Flash and HTML5 versions.
Thank you for your help. I see same as you, i want to have this result, i need it !! I added a background to the character, but the problem is stiil there :( !!
here attached my character . What should i do to show it, in the publication ?
Thanks for attaching the files. I added the character.swf file to a new Storyline to project and published it for Web here. Please give that link a test--can you see the character on the slide?
Hello Alyssa ! thank you for your replay. yes i see the character in this publication, but without the animation (the character open and close his eyes). how can i show the character animated in storyline 2 ? thank you :)
I used Google Chrome v59 to test the link, and I did see the character opening and closing her eyes. Here's a screen recording of my test. What browser did you use to test the link?
Are you viewing the HTML5 version or the Flash version of the published output?
SWF files are only supported in the Flash output, so if you're viewing the HTML5 version then the animation won't work as expected. A quick way to tell is you'll see in Alyssa's screen recording that the url she's viewing ends in story.html. If yours ends in story_html5.html then you're viewing the HTML5 output.
YES !! i finalysee the character animated, but only with IE11, it stil upload in chrome and firefox and nothing is showed. I can ony work with IE11 ???
I appreciate your precious help ,Ali and Alyssa, :) thank you both.

Hey Keskes!
Thanks for letting us know. Are you viewing the HTLM5 version or the Flash output when this happens?
You're also welcome to share your Articulate Package here and I can do some testing. You can add the zip file in a comment this way:
Thanks again!
I apologize, Keskes! I just noticed you said Storyline 2- case of the Mondays over here 😉.
Can you share your .story project file here so I can take a look? Really appreciate it!

Hi Ali !
Good Ali ! YES my end is HTML5, it change by itself !! what should i do ? thank you .
Good to know, Keskes!
If you want only the Flash version for your users, uncheck the "include HTML5 output" option when publishing here:

Hey Keskes,
Hmmm, well that's strange! It should work in the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox, as they're both supported for the Flash output in Storyline 2.
Where are you uploading the published output to when testing it?
