iPad presentation won't load - just prompts to download app

Sep 25, 2015

On iPad learners continually get prompted to download app even though the app is installed and open when they try to access the learning module. My sample module worked but now the other ones will not.

My learners and I cannot get past the prompt stage. I have published according to all the instructions.

Hi Donna,

Thanks for sending along a link to your Presenter files - I'll be taking a look at them shortly but also wanted to check in with you on a few other things. First, what update of Studio '13 are you using and what iOS are you using on the iPad? We recently released Update 7 that dealt specifically with some issues in iOS9 on the iPad. You can read the entire release notes at that link and download the update there as well. We always recommend working with the latest update to ensure you have all bug fixes and features.

The issue with iOS9 is described in a bit more detail here in terms of how the courses won't open in the Mobile Player and you're constantly prompted to download the app. Within that article you'll see directions on how to download and install the app, and any previously published content can be updated using the Articulate Updater to scan and update your published files.

Also, it looks like your most recent reply was via email and as such your signature is included here in the forums. You're welcome to edit the post (option at the bottom of any of your forum posts) to remove that information if you desire, but it's not a problem on our account.

Thanks and I'll be in touch shortly once I've double checked your file as well.

Thanks Donna - I just did the one course using Update 7 and uploaded to Tempshare here, and that one launched on my iPad mini running iOS9 in the Mobile player. I see the first screen with the launch button per normal, click it and then it opens in the mobile player. I clicked through a few slides and all seemed to work normally.

Please let me know if you're able to test the version I published and how it behaves for you and then if once you've downloaded the update if you're still having difficulty.

Hi Ashley

The bad news is - I had already updated. I ran the update again, republished
Module 1 and had no change in the results.

The updates don't seem to work on my software. I also have a continued
problem that was fixed in Update 4 but does not fix my problem. (See Case
#00641414)

Upon instructions in Case #00641414, I installed the latest update as per
email "Tue 2015-09-08 11:25 AM"

On a personal note: This is time sensitive with government learning modules
published right before a Canadian federal election in October. I have had an
overwhelming response in sales, but customers are really frustrated. Very
bad for my business. I need a fix ASAP.

Have you ever known if an uninstall, reinstall would help the present
problem?

I am really busy trying to get modules completed so I don't want to do
lengthy unnecessary steps.

Can you send me the zipped folder of the module you got to work correctly
and I can upload to my site and then test to see if it is my resident file.

Hi Donna,

Hm, that case also should be fixed as a part of Update 7 and I reached out to Karla in regards to updating you with that.

I know that issues can occur when the update/installation process, so a repair wouldn't hurt. You'll want to follow the steps here.  The other item I would check into is to clear out the cache and history associated with your browsers and delete the old courses from the mobile player to ensure you're having a clean, fresh start to trying the course again. It could just be that it's trying to pull up the cached version.

The published output folder for that one course is attached below.
