Missing ribbon

Nov 01, 2012

Hello,

I recently left someone to record audio for a PPT in Articulate. I believe they failed to 'save and close' once they finished, and it appears my computer ran out of battery. Upon restarting, I find that the ribbon has disappeared. This has happened before and I've simply been able to re-add the ribbon from the PPT add-ons. However, this is not working, and I can't figure out what to do to bring the ribbon back when I open PPT.

Good morning Nick!

Since you've experienced this in the past, it may have something to do with the installation of the Studio software. The fastest solution would be to perform a repair on the installation.

How to repair Articulate Studio '09

If your Articulate Studio '09 software is not working properly, a simple repair may fix the problem. Follow these steps for your version of Microsoft Windows:

Windows Vista or later
  1. Close PowerPoint and all Articulate Studio '09 programs.
  2. Locate your Articulate Studio '09 installation file. If you can't find it, download it again, and save it to your computer. Use the download link in your product confirmation email, or click here.
  3. Right-click the installation file, and select Run as administrator.
  4. Select the option to Reinstall, and follow the prompts to complete the process.
  5. Reboot your computer.
Windows XP or earlier
  1. Close PowerPoint and all Articulate Studio '09 programs.
  2. Locate your Articulate Studio '09 installation file. If you can't find it, download it again, and save it to your computer. Use the download link in your product confirmation email, or click here.
  3. Double-click the installation file.
  4. Select the option to Reinstall, and follow the prompts to complete the process.
  5. Reboot your computer.

If you've taken the steps above and you're still unable to see the Articulate ribbon, please let me know what version of Windows (7, XP, Vista, etc.) and Office you're running.

Thanks!

Have a great day,

Christine
