Multiple Pop-ups on one slide in Presenter '13
Jun 13, 2018
I'm working on a course that would like to have a slide with four word, each of which, when rolled-over, generate a pop-up with info specific to that word. I've tried to create this by duplicating the the original slide, adding transparent boxes around the word and then linking to the appropriate slide within my PowerPoint. Unfortunately, all the links just go to the last link for the last word. I've checked and they all link to the correct slide in the hyperlink menu, but no joy. I've attached images of what I am talking about. Any help will be really appreciated.

Hi there, Debra. It sounds like you're using the Action feature in PowerPoint to hyperlink people from that slide to the "pop-up" slides.
I did a quick test with PowerPoint 2013:
I have 2 hyperlinks in my text box, and I have 2 additional slides which are the "pop-ups." Each hyperlink jumped to the appropriate slide. I'm attaching my project file so you can compare.
Were you able to choose the right pop-up slides from the Action Settings menu?
Yes, I played around with the Action and that works. Big problem is that when using the Next button on the player , it goes to the next slide and not the slide that should follow the "pop-up". What I ended up doing was to use the Action to create the rollover and then put a hyperlink to slide 12, which would be the next slide.
Slide 7: 4 words to rollover
Slide 8: Pop-up for slide 7, word #1 - hyperlink to slide 12
Slide 9: Pop-up for slide 7, word #2 - hyperlink to slide 12
And so on for the 4 words, with the pop-up for slide 11 advancing when using the next button in the player. I'm still playing around with things to see if I get what I'm really after. I think it's a Storyline feature, but we don't have Storyline. Wish they'd add the rollover pop-up feature to Presenter.
I think the key is to always return to the base slide after each word is viewed. That way the navigation button will always start from the base slide.
Demo in PPT attached.
Hope this helps!
