Using ppt 2010 and latest articulate trial version. When I try to open the narration tool in presenter, it opens, but nothing works except Save/Close. I tried using the Audio Editor tool - it records, but nothing synchronizes. I am still on the trial version - would this be the reason?
Thanks for getting back to me. I tried your suggestion. I also updated to the latest version of Flash. In addition, I started a brand new slide show to test. No luck. The darn Narration tool opens, but nothing works on it except Save & Close. I can't record or even advance to the next slide. Any other suggestions?
If the issue persists on your local hard drive, see if you're able to record via PowerPoint:
PowerPoint 2013: Go to the Insert tab, click Audio, and choose Record Audio.
PowerPoint 2010: Go to the Insert tab, click Audio, and choose Record Audio.
PowerPoint 2007: Go to the Slide Show tab, and click Record Narration.
If not, it's likely there's an issue with your sound card or microphone. Make sure your sound card is working and your microphone is plugged into the correct port. You may also need to install the latest drivers for your sound card and microphone.
If this does work, please reach out to our support team here to further troubleshoot since you have already covered the basics (and then some).
Yep, I tried an entirely new PowerPoint file, and tried recording in PowerPoint. It worked fine. Only the tool in Articulate is not working. I will reach out to your support team. Thanks for trying.

Also, I am working off the local hard-drive as recommended. I am concerned that this won't work even after spending the $ for the license.
Hi Jeff!
The trial is the same as the full version, so that should not be the issue.
I would recommend that you conduct a repair as that should eliminate the issue that you are reporting.

Thanks for the update Jeff. Did you try in a new file or just a new slide?
If you're unable to record narration in Articulate Presenter, confirm that your PowerPoint presentation is located on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or an external USB drive can cause erratic behavior.

Of course Jeff. I'd be happy to follow along with the progress if you'd like to share the support case number with me when you submit.
Ooops - I didn't get the number. I will email it back when I get a reply. I did reference this forum in the case.
Sounds great Jeff.
