Notes text will not appear correctly

Jun 29, 2016

I'm trying to show notes in my presentation.  When I publish it the font color is white (which I need it to be), but it is also outlining the font in black which makes it very hard to read.  How do I remove the outline?

Oh shoot, Deborah! It looks like you have replied via email, and as such, any attachments you intended to share are not transmitted to be accessible or visible over in the forum post itself. Please click here to be taken to the discussion, and you will then be able to use the grey ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left of the reply box to browse/upload from there.

This is what I am getting no matter what I do.  My IT person has reinstalled ppt, articulate 13, installed update #7, rebooted, and has completed every step outlined in your troubleshooting suggestions. I am still getting text that is unreadable. The font is suppose to be white--just like it is in the menu tab.  This is really frustrating.

Hi, Deborah -- Thanks so much for outlining the steps your IT dept. has already performed and  I'm sorry to hear that issues persist! Would it be possible for you to share your file with our Support staff for additional technical insights? If so, please use the steps here for How to Create an Articulate Package and then upload via this form. If you are able to share your case number, we will be happy to follow along with their progress!

I have already done this.  According to what I am reading on many of your sites, this problem has persisted since 2013.  I've read multiple threads of individuals who have had the same  problem and have never read where the problem was fixed.  Instead of sending emails constantly asking for the same information, or sending emails with additional links to read and tasks to try to fix,  maybe you need to fix the issue.  Due to the fact that I had to deliver this project to the client on Monday and that didn't happen because of Articulate glitches, I used a different product and voila no problems  I was able to do everything I needed with the notes field being crystal clear and did not need to read for hours on how to fix anything.  Sorry to say, but  this may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.  Not sure if I will be using Articulate any more.

Sincerely,
Debbie

HI Deborah,

Thank you for sharing the feedback here, and although that's not the experience I'd expect for you to have, I can see how it continued in your example file. I read through your case with Karla and it seemed she was able to publish your file and didn't see any blurriness with the notes. She shared a screenshot of that with you and a copy of the published output to have you test uploading that version. I don't see if you were able to take a look at that version - but I wonder if you could confirm which browser and environment you were uploading and testing it in? You'll want to confirm it was one of the supported browsers here and that you were testing in the intended publish environment.  Also were you changed anything associated with the Presenter player set up? For the best results, we also recommend locking the player at optimal size and setting the output slide size to 100% to prevent distorting text.

I know you mentioned already submitting this file to the client, but we'd still like to figure out what happened on your end to prevent you or other users from experiencing it again so I'd be happy to escalate your case and have one of our Senior Support Engineers dive a bit deeper. Just let me know if you'd like to take that route, and someone will be in touch shortly.

I used the file provided by Karla, downloaded to my desktop, made no changes and published it. After publishing it still had the blurry notes pages.  Yes, this was output at 100% and the font remained blurry.  My pc runs Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit and the version of Powerpoint is 2010.  I would love to talk to someone about this.  I've been using Articulate now for almost 10 years and have loved using the software.  However, I will not be able to speak with any one until next week.  Trying to make up for lost time because of troubleshooting the problem.

Hi Staff, I have been using Articulate in its different versions and forms (Pro '09, Pro'13, Storyline, Storyline 2, etc.).

This is the first time that I cannot solve this problem which I need to very shortly because I have to release it to the client.

The situation is the following: I have made the project for the customer years ago over Pro'09 and now the same project needs minimal adjustes. Once I open it through Pro'13 SOME OF THE TEXT BOXES changed colors by themselves. I have attached one of the screenshots of the original one and the new one.

Please, let me know what would be the solution for that as I thought it could be something related with the exchange between '09 and '13. This problem is appearing when we do the preview and also at the publishing phase.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, Dario -- Thanks so much for reaching out here and sorry for your troubles! May I ask if you are finding this behavior in more than 1 file, or have you experienced this in others as well after upgrading from Presenter '09 to '13? And can you please confirm which update version of Presenter '13 you are using? Here is some information for when Text Boxes Are Filled with Unexpected Colors or Gradients, and if you have run through the troubleshooting steps listed here previously, as you mentioned you are in a time crunch, you are welcome to reach out to our Support Engineers directly for additional insights.
