Peculiar Present Problem

May 01, 2013

Hi, Folks!

I just submitted a support case and the e-mail I was sent suggested I ask for help here, too -- so let's see if the community can crack this faster than Articulate Support!

I've produced five other E-Learning modules (they're basically mini-lectures) with this same version of Presenter '09 and PowerPoint 2010 (32 bit), and this is the first time I've run into this particular problem.

No issues with the project until the publishing stage. Once I publish, something very strange happens:

The audio for slide 6 starts playing whenever I go to slide 4, 5, or 6. This means that on slides 4 and 5, we hear the narration for slide 6 on top of the narration for slide 4 or 5. This happens whether I jump to the slide, or let the module progress there naturally. Pressing the pause button does not stop the audio for slide 6, though it will stop the audio for slides 4 or 5 if I'm viewing them. Seeking within the slide has a similar effect -- I can seek through the audio of any other slide, but the only control I have over the audio for slide 6 is the volume control. If I preview slides 4 or 5, they have not issues at all. But if I preview slide 6, I once again have no control over the audio.

There's nothing fancy about these modules -- no embedded flash movies, engage interactions, or annotations. (They're basically just mini-lectures.) I've re-published the project twice, tried different web browsers and operating systems, and I still get the same result. I need to finish this project no later than the end of this week, so I could use any help you can provide.

Many Thanks,
Andrew

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Andrew!

Looks like support wins this round :)

I was able to find your support case (#00331758 for my reference) and I see that Cleo is currently working with you on this.

Looks like he sent out a message last night and recommended taking a look at this article. I just wanted to check in with you to make sure you received his response. If you haven't seen the message, please try checking your spam folder. If you still don't see the email, just let me know. I'll be happy to send it out again.

Thanks and welcome again!

Christine
