Am noticing that since installing Update 3, the program even seems slower when trying to open Slide Properties or the Player menu. And when trying to close them it freezes up sometimes. It's making even simple property setting changes very time consuming.

Sounds like you may need to conduct a repair of your install to see if those issues correct themselves.
