Powerpoint Autosave when inserting videos
Nov 16, 2015
I have a 50-slide presentation, and each slide needs to be a large hi-res mp4 video. I'm using Windows 8.1, Powerpoint 2016 and the latest version of Presenter/Studio. Each time I "Add slide video from file" it forces PowerPoint to save the entire presentation. The save takes about 12 seconds, which makes this an extremely slow process. (I'm on a very high-performance machine built for video production.)
Is there any way to disable the feature that is causing Powerpoint to save on each video import? It's a bit maddening...

Hi Scott!
Is this the AutoRecover feature perhaps?
Check out this office documentation.
I believe this is expected behaviour because presenter is saving the video into the PPTA file
