Presenter 13 update 3 - Audio files removed when hide the slides

Sep 01, 2014

Hi,

When we hide some slides in the PPTs (also in player properties - menu tab) and republish it in Presenter 13 - update 3, the audio files of hidden slides were automatically removed from the PPTs after publishing. This issue is happened after installing the Presenter 13, update 3. Earlier, we haven't encountered this issue in update 1 and 2.

Please refer screen capture image below and we hidden slides 49-51 in PPT, but the audios of the slides 49-51 were automatically removed after publishing. Please resolve this issue at the earliest.

Regards,

Venkat

Hi Leslie,

Yes you are correct, hidden slides in PowerPoint won't appear in the published Presenter file. What I am asking is those hidden slides "Audios" are automatically removed from the PowerPoint file after publishing in Presenter 13. Earlier, we haven't faced this issue in the previous Presenter 13 release (update 1 or 2).

For example, consider chapter 1 PPT file contains 10 slides.

1. First, import all the slide audios.

2. Hide slides 6 to 10 and publish in Presenter 13, update 3. Here published presenter file plays audios for the slides 1 to 5.

3. Using the same PPT file (chapter 1), unhide the slides 6 to 10 and hide slides 1 to 5 and publish it again. Here what happened was, audios for the slides 6 to 10 is not working because these slide audios were automatically removed when we publish it in first time.

Earlier, when we hide the slides and publish it in the Presenter 13 (update 1 or 2), the audios of the hidden slides weren't removed. So, we use the same PPT file again and again. But, the update 3 release removes audios of the hidden slides automatically from the import audio menu. Please look into this issue and let me know if any questions.

Venkat

If you hide slides in your PowerPoint file, you may find that Articulate Presenter audio that was recorded for those hidden slides is missing after publishing the course.

This is a known issue. It'll be fixed in the next software update for Presenter. In the meantime, if you need to hide slides in PowerPoint that have narration, we recommend exporting a copy of the audio files or creating an Articulate Package of the entire project for backup purposes.
