Hello Terry ... are you previewing the animations while Presenter is still in Sync Animations mode? If so, I recall that in the '09 version, doing that caused problems. So if you're doing that, try syncing your slides, save and close Sync Animations, then publish and test.
(I don't know whether that particular bug was ever fixed in '09, or if it carried over the '13 version.)
If you're still having difficulty with the syncing of animations and how it previews, you'll want to first confirm that you're working locally as described here and then if you'd like to share a Presenter package here we can take a look at your files.
