Produced recordings not playing on other PC's without Articulate

Oct 14, 2016

Hello All,

I am looking for some advice. I have been producing files in Presenter '09 as well and I have Storyline 2 but have not been able to produce any eLearning's with it yet. My problem started with some videos I produced as a web and were working fine for everybody until a few weeks ago. Now they try to load the player and it just sits there. I reproduced them, and now I can view them in the player but everyone else has a problem playing it. The only other person who has been able to play the recordings is the one who also has presenter '09 installed. I have also tried to produce in storyline with the same issue. They click on Story and it just sits there. I have been wracking my brain for weeks trying everything I can think of to help, short of reinstalling the products. Has anyone else experienced this? I have several clients waiting for their elearnings and I cant provide it to them.

Thanks in advance.

Joelle

Actually both. It is affecting all the courses I create in both Storyline 2 and Presenter '09. I published one to GeoMaestro LMS and a different one I zipped and placed on a sharepoint site and also shared drive for staff to download and play. The only one who actually got it to play is the other one with Articulate.

Hi Joelle,

The same behavior in that article would apply across the board as it was an issue with Flash player and local content - so I'd start there. Since the users who have Articulate installed can play it, that's certainly a bit more unusual - but if the LMS users are utilizing it in one of these browsers they should be fine. It plays for you from the LMS?

I just checked with one of my users and there is no flash error. basically she launches the story.html and it just gives a blank page, no spinning or anything. its acting like the page is already displayed and IE is done but everything is blank. I cant find where the global settings are because they symptoms are not the same as the directions.

The course does play for me in the LMS. Not for others though. I am using Adobe Flash Player 23 which all other internal staff is using as well.

I have been doing more testing and I need to take back the LMS not working portion. It looks like it was only one user and we have fixed their issue. :)

I do still have the problem with the web published courses. With all your information I think it may actually be the flash player since all the pcs do have version 23. My problem is that the instructions are not really helping me find the setting. I am going to keep working at it and ill post again if there I have more questions.

Thanks for the help!! :) I really like this site!
