SCORM Presentation not loading in Firefox

Aug 22, 2012

Hi,

I am having a strange issue and hoping that someone here can give tips on how to resolve it.

I have an articulate presentation with a quiz.  I publish it as an SCORM 1.2 and load it in the Blackboard 9 Learn LMS.

a) On my laptop with Win7, the content launches with both firefox (14.01) and IE.

b) On my desktop with Win XP(SP3), the content only opens in IE but not firefox. In Firefox, it just shows a blank window.

I have updated all flash plugins and tried both Java 6 and Java 7 on my desktop.  Uninstalled Firefox 14 and installed firefox 13 but no effect.

If I create a SCORM 1.2 content using another software such as Studymate by Respondus, it works fine in firefox.  So only the articulate scorm content is not loading.

If I just publish the articulate presentation with quiz for web but not as SCORM, then it launches absolutely fine in firefox browser on the desktop.

If anyone has a suggestion on what setting in firefox I need to fix on my desktop to allow the SCORM content created with articulate, I will appreciate it.

Hi ,

I have just discovered a similar problem. I have just  loaded firefox as my browser . I published my project as a Scorm 2.1 and when I try and see the presentation it asks for a plug in. Previously in chrome or explorer the player icon was blank and it played. Now it has firefox on it and asks for the plug in even when I launch explorer. Any ideas?

Hi Dina,

It has been a while and Firefox has seen gone through many revisions.  At the time I had the problem, what worked was resetting Firefox to a whole new profile.

Unfortunately, our institution has moved to Canvas LMS, which does not have SCORM support, I have stopped using that feature. It would have been great if there was a way to use Articulate with Canvas with some sort of reporting.

Good luck.
