Switched to a new computer yesterday, and all of the audio from four modules of an e-learning course can now not be heard. When I put it in preview mode, the course player works, the graphics transition at the correct time, there is just no sound. I tried launching the course from my back up external hard drive, but still no sound. Any one else experience this problem?
I'd recommend starting with this article to try and recover your audio. Also, be sure that your presentation is located on your local hard drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB (external) drive can cause erratic behavior, including loss of resources.
Did you get this sorted? I have exactly the same problem since my upgrade to Windows 7 and would love to know if it can be fixed without me having to re-import all of the audio again. I also backed up my trainings on an external hard drive but the audio is missing from there aswell.
Just to let you know that I followed the advice at http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=ap9&id=yc8l9g7t0wn8 regarding the -old.ppta file and it seems to have resolved the issue. Thought I'd let you know in case others have similar issues when they upgrade to Windows 7 and Office 2010.
I just had the same thing happened - upgraded yesterday to Windows 7. I was so happy to find this response and realize that I didn't have to re-record everything! Followed the directions and it was an easy fix. thanks!
