Text formatting issues between ppt and Presenter

Apr 24, 2012

I had a random problem with extra spaces being added to lines of text in Presenter that were not there in PowerPoint.  I noticed that this happened with formatted (italic, superscript, underlined, etc.) text and often next to quote marks.  After searching e-learning heroes, I found a way to fix these by adjusting the "character spacing" in the PowerPoint to "Condensed" and "0.1" -- the forum said this was a known issue.

Now I have a different problem.  Sometimes - but not always - when I have to adjust some text to eliminate the extra spaces, a "shadow" of that section appears in gray, quite a ways below the original line of text.  So far the only way to fix this that I've come up with is to erase everything in the PowerPoint and start again from scratch.  Sometimes this works, other times it doesn't and I end up having to sacrifice the formatting (bold, underline, etc.) that I really want to use there.

Any suggestions?
