Using Slide Only View - How to access Attachments

Oct 27, 2012

Hi,

I want to create my course using the Slide Only View. However, I am planning to attach documents to the course.

Is it possible to create a link on the Powerpoint slide to the Attachments ?

Same question for the Exit button

Thanks!

Noemi

Hi Noemi! Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

You could try using the web object feature to attach files, if you'd like.

Here's more information on the topic:

You can embed a PDF file or other document into your presentation by inserting the file as a web object. Here's how:

  1. Go to scribd.com, sign up for a free account, and click on the Upload button.
  2. After uploading the file, go to My Docs or the All Documents section.
  3. Under the item that you wish to embed, click on the Share link.
  4. Copy the Embed code.
  5. Now, create a new folder on your Desktop called Web Object.
  6. Open Notepad and paste the Embed code from Scribd.
  7. Create a basic HTML document by placing the following code above the embed code: <html>
    <body>
  8. After the embed code, place the following code: </html>
    </body>
  9. Click on the File menu in Notepad and choose Save As.
  10. Save the file in your newly created Web Object folder on your Desktop.
  11. In the file name section, type index.html.
  12. In the Save As Type drop-down box, choose All Files.
  13. Click the OK button to save the file and exit Notepad.
  14. Open PowerPoint, click on the Articulate menu, and choose Web Object.
  15. When the Insert Web Object window opens, click on the folder icon.
  16. Browse to the Desktop and choose the Web Object folder that we created earlier.
  17. Click OK.

After you preview or publish your file, the document will be embedded in your slide.

Here's a video that may help.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're trying to accomplish, but since you're working with documents, I thought it might be a good choice.

Let me know if this helps!

Christine
