Video playback in Chrome

Jan 14, 2015

I am having an issue with video (Using Studio 13) here’s the story:

In many of the e-learning modules I have published I have embedded videos from Vimeo (all good there)
The SCORM modules published have been added to an LMS (Totara based site) They have been working fine until recently when they stopped working in Chrome (There is just a white box where the video should be) The videos still play in Firefox and Internet Explorer (11).
If you right click the white space where the video should be playing you get Developer Tools – We can see a message in here that says: was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure resource 'http://player.vimeo.com/video/109253987' this request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

The LMS has recently been made secure (HTTPS) so we thought that may have something to do with it. We checked the embed codes from Vimeo – They do no show http or https anywhere in the embed code.
Totally stuck and need to resolve like yesterday!! Please help :)

Yes, it still didn't play. So I looked closer at the course and revisited how I add the embed code for the video's in Articulate which should be just copy and paste however for some reason when publishing it creates the link as an http link to vimeo and not https which causes the white screen problem. The fix appears to be before publishing when you paste the embed code into the Articulate slide you need to modify the URL in the slide by adding https: in the appropriate part of the embed code.  Then publish it this seems to solve the problem.
