Videos, audio, and resources - completely wiped

Apr 20, 2018

Title pretty much says it all. I'm creating a course of about 100 slides in length and this has been a recurring problem. Especially with the audio for every slide completely disappearing without reason. I've viewed the support page for this issue and I've followed their suggested guidelines exactly (e.g. Keep files saved on the local drive, don't change the file path or folder of the files, check for -old.ppta files etc.), but it keeps happening.

In this instance, I was trying to upload a video (mp4 format) that appears to upload fine, but when I preview the slide it is not there. I go to check the other videos that had previously worked fine in preview and published versions of the course and these have been wiped as well. I then notice all my resources are wiped, and the Articulate player as turned back to the default style. I check the audio editor and everything there has been wiped too. Again, no changes to any file locations or anything else that I suspect may have caused this.

Are there any suggestions for how to avoid this from happening again in the future? This causes serious issues with project deadlines.

Some of the other problems we continue to experience:

  • Titles are off centre or completely cut off, despite having no special characters as instructed by the troubleshooting notes.
  • Audio editor, is visually inaccurate the further I progress in editing the audio for a course. It completely shifts out of sync.
  • There are times when bullets for lists don't appear on the screen.

I had hopes that Studio 360 would resolve many of the glitches we've been experiencing with our courses made with Presenter '13, but this is not the case. The number of issues is astounding and certainly not acceptable for a product that costs $1000
