When synchronizing animation, asks twice to save a WORD file ...

Oct 20, 2011

Hi All,

I recently did an new installation of Articulate on my pc and now everytime I do a voice synchronisation in Articutate with every synchronization file (SYNC ANIMATIONS), I get TWICE the question if a want to save a word doc (see screen captures).

When I say "no" twice, then it loads the matching voice file and I can start the synchronization of that voice file with the animation.  Very annoying as this is with every voice file.

How can I get rid of this ?

Hi Peter and Brian,

Thanks for the assistance. Unfortunately it did not do the trick...

I have contacted our IT help desk to ask for a re-installation of the office 2007, as this is not available in our standard download pack.  We will see if that will solve the trick.

The strange thing I noticed was that in word I was not able to save as a .docx file even with all the setting set correctly.  So I think the problem is somewhere in a corrupt word software.

Or if you have any other tricks I could try... just let me know.

I will also keep you informed if the re-install did the trick.

Hi Peter,

I DO have office 2007 , but the strange thing there is that when I do a save as no .docx extension is in the list although all my settings are set correctly.  I think something has gone wrong when the installation of office 2007 was done by our IT help desk.  I asked for a re-installation.  We will have to see if that solves the problem.

Hi Guys,

Unfortunately the re-installation of the complete office 2007 by our IT help desk did not solve my articulate problem.

Still, everytime I do a voice synchronisation in Articutate with every synchronization file (SYNC ANIMATIONS), I get TWICE the question if a want to save a word doc.

But in word 2007, when I do a "save as", I have now the option to save as .docx, so that has changed.

But not my Articulate issue.

Any other things I could try, because this is very very very annoying to have this?

Hey Heidi,

Sorry for the continuing issue. Did your IT team completely uninstall Office before re-installing it? Simply re-installing before uninstalling can cause a bad installation.

If that's not at play, you can have your IT group run through this troubleshoot:

http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=2425

If there's still no luck, I would suggest you submit a case by following the steps below.

Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/?p=457

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

http://upload.articulate.com/

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09 which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so we can follow up with you in the forums.

Thanks!

Hello Peter,

Our IT team cleared the registery and did a re-install of the office package.  I do not know if they did an uninstall first.

Our IT team is an external company providing IT services.  They only give support to the standard company software packages.  Articulate is not one of them.  So they will not run through the troubleshoot you have added.

I did also a repair of the Ariculate software, but that did not solve my problem.

So the only thing left is to send you my Articulate Presenter package, and hope the error will be solved this way.
