The project was created in Articulate Presenter '13, so this makes no sense. I get this message when I attempt to insert a quiz by clicking on "Quizmaker Quiz." It's a copy of another file that was created in Articulate Presenter '13. Note that other copies of the file functioned normally--I was able to add quizzes. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Are you trying to insert a Quizmaker Quiz or another Presenter file? If using the "Insert Quiz" option you'll only be able to add .quiz files - and if that quiz existed in another Presenter course, you could look at importing in those slides - or finding the original .quiz to import.
You'll also want to confirm you're working locally as described here.
