Are there any quiz items for which I can change its default properties? For example, I want to change the default size of radio buttons, and the default font type and size for questions. I hate that I have to edit every single button and every single text box for every quiz I create. I just got Articulate and my experience has been very frustrating with all its idiosyncracies.

Sounds like you may want to utilize quiz templates? That may save you some frustration
