How to deal with long feedback in QM '13?

Oct 15, 2013

Hi All,

I'm trying to take quizzes created in QM '09 and update them to QM '13.  The quizzes are multiple choice with feedback provided at the Choice (Answer) level.  The problem I'm running into is that the feedback is long and is being shrunk down to a point where it can't be read in QM '13.

I know about scrolling panels, but that's extremely cumbersome to have to do for each and every question (thousands of them).  The newer flexibility provided by QM '13 is great, but it seems like a step backwards to require so much manual handling for questions that have lots of feedback.

Has anyone come up with a clever way to accommodate questions with lots of feedback without having to touch each and every question?

I would love to hear your ideas if you've run into the same problem.

Thanks!

Hi Steven.

We do appreciate the feedback and certainly understand that not having scrolling panels by default is difficult for you. I will be speaking with our Quality Assurance team about this issue today as I know that this does have an impact on customers who have already created content with Quizmaker '09. I certainly understand why you would expect it to work the same way from version to version.

I do know that there was some thought given to this issue prior to release and there were technical reasons why we were unable to automatically have a scrolling panel for feedback.

While I don't have a quick fix for you, I will certainly see if there is something we can do moving forward.

Hi Steven,

I'd love to hear if you have any further developments on this issue.  I have just upgraded to Articulate 13 today and was super excited to get in and see how things are working - particularly for my courses that are mid-development.

We too, also provide feedback at individual question/answer level and I was surprised to see that the answer feedback box is a set size, which I cannot alter.

Do you have any alternate solutions to displaying detailed immediate feedback rather than at the end of the assessment?

Cheers,

Tanya

Any update on this? - it's a major issue for me considering to upgrade.
