How to deal with long feedback in QM '13?
Oct 15, 2013
Hi All,
I'm trying to take quizzes created in QM '09 and update them to QM '13. The quizzes are multiple choice with feedback provided at the Choice (Answer) level. The problem I'm running into is that the feedback is long and is being shrunk down to a point where it can't be read in QM '13.
I know about scrolling panels, but that's extremely cumbersome to have to do for each and every question (thousands of them). The newer flexibility provided by QM '13 is great, but it seems like a step backwards to require so much manual handling for questions that have lots of feedback.
Has anyone come up with a clever way to accommodate questions with lots of feedback without having to touch each and every question?
I would love to hear your ideas if you've run into the same problem.
Thanks!

Hi Steven.
We do appreciate the feedback and certainly understand that not having scrolling panels by default is difficult for you. I will be speaking with our Quality Assurance team about this issue today as I know that this does have an impact on customers who have already created content with Quizmaker '09. I certainly understand why you would expect it to work the same way from version to version.
I do know that there was some thought given to this issue prior to release and there were technical reasons why we were unable to automatically have a scrolling panel for feedback.
While I don't have a quick fix for you, I will certainly see if there is something we can do moving forward.
Hi Justin,
Thanks so much for the feedback! And I appreciate your willingness to bring this issue up with your folks.
I'm guessing I won't be the only person with this issue, so hopefully if any changes are ever made to QM '13 to address this issue it will benefit others as well.
Have a great day!
Best,
Steven
Hi Steven,
I'd love to hear if you have any further developments on this issue. I have just upgraded to Articulate 13 today and was super excited to get in and see how things are working - particularly for my courses that are mid-development.
We too, also provide feedback at individual question/answer level and I was surprised to see that the answer feedback box is a set size, which I cannot alter.
Do you have any alternate solutions to displaying detailed immediate feedback rather than at the end of the assessment?
Cheers,
Tanya
Hi Tanya and welcome to Heroes! You can workaround this issue by following the steps here. You can also completely customize your Feedback layer and simply adjust the text box in the master which may resolve your issue as well.
Hi Justin,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Customising the Feedback layers is exactly what I am after!
Cheers,
Tanya
Awesome Tanya! Thanks for the update and glad that Justin was able to assist you here
Hi Stuart and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
Did you check out the article here? You can control the look of your feedback layers is why the scrolling panels were not added by default.
