Mythical Review Mode

Aug 24, 2011

I am a fairly new user trying to write the training program for my company's big software switch in November.  A friend of a friend recommended Articulate to us and insists that there is a way to make a quiz in "Review Mode." He says that when a question is answered incorrectly you get sent to the slide that covered the material in the first place, then go back and have another chance to answer the question.  Once you have answered the question correctly, you move on to the next question.  I haven't been able to find this feature alluded to in any help menus or forums.  Maybe I'm just not hitting upon the right combination of key words.

I thought maybe I could duplicate this behavior by recreating my information slides as "blank slides" in quizmaker, but I don't seem to have the option to then go back and try a question over again.   If I create a new identical question, my scoring gets all messed up.

So here is my desired process for each question:

1. Read question

   2. if answered correctly, move to next question

   3. if answered incorrectly go to slide to review information

   4. go back to step 1 unlimited times until correct answer is reached

In the end, the user has answered all questions correctly, even if it took them 10 tries on each question, and has (we hope) understood why they finally got the right answer to each question.  Since they are mostly true/false or 4-choice multi-choice questions, I sure hope it doesn't take 10 tries!  Is such a process possible?

I would simply use the built in feedback rather than try to have them branch to a different slide as I point out here:

Here's a tutorial on how to do this here:

If a quiz is in a Presenter presentation you have the option to allow someone to take a quiz more than once and you can direct them to any point in your presentation for review before attempting the quiz again so that's an option as well. See this tutorial:
