Questions about upgrading to the QM 13 standalone version

Oct 15, 2013

Currently using the newest version of QM 09.  Considering upgrading to QM 13. Have a couple of questions:

  1. Will I still have my QM 09 installing intake - in other-words, I will have the QM 09 product as well as the QM 13 product, so I can use either one of them, right?
  2. If I import a quiz from QM 09 to QM 13 and then re-publish it in QM 13, will the quiz file then NOT work in QM 09 anymore?

Thanks

Hi Larry,

1. You'd need to operate the two versions of Quizmaker on different machines - they can't live together, or you could also run one of them within a virtual machine (I operate Quizmaker 09 in VMWare, and the Quizmaker 13 on my desktop).

2. When you import a quiz into Quizmaker 13, it'll save a back up copy of the original Quizmaker 09 file. You'd be able to use that one in Quizmaker 09, but the new quiz file that you would use within Quizmaker 13 can't go backwards.

Hi Ashley - thanks for responding!

So I'll need to remove QM 09 from my computer before installing QM 13 (assuming I don't I don't want to use a VM option), right?

What is the best way to remove QM 09 from my computer?  Should I just go to the Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs and find the QM 09 product and remove it there - then once removed go ahead and install QM 13, right?

The QM 13 installation apparently doesn't need to see a previous version of QM on my machine to install the QM 13 standalone upgrade, right?
