Quiz results not coming through when user clicks on email results

Sep 18, 2013

I have over 1200 employees that have participated in a quiz through quizmaker. However, not all of the "results" come through. What could be causing this. Does it link with adobe? Some of the users have different versions of Adobe. Do you have a version that is necessary for the results to come through?

Also, when the user click on email results, the ones that come through receive 2 pop up boxes. One says that information will be transferred and shared that they need to click ok. The second tells the user that they have to click allow so the email will go through. I have noticed that if the user doesn't get the pop up boxes then the email won't come through. Any ideas?

On another note, I have tried to submit an idea to be able to place pictures where we want it in Engage instead of Top/Bottom/Left/Right, but your site isn't working.

Thanks,

Kelly

Good Afternoon, Kelly.

This article discusses some possible causes for the failure of our email results feature.  For reliable and secure tracking of quiz results across a majority of platforms, Articulate recommends implementing a SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or AICC compliant Learning Management System or Articulate Online.  In fact, given these limitations, we have decided not to include the email results feature in our products anymore.

Our Feature Request form is here, and I've confirmed that we've received several submissions today.  If you continue to have trouble, I'd recommend updating Flash Player, clearing your Browser Cache, and deleting your Flash cookies.  Or, please feel free to outline your Feature Request here in detail, and we would be more than happy to submit it on your behalf.

Thanks!

Justin--

Thank you for getting back to me.  So are you saying that the new 2013 version of Studio Pro won't include the email results feature?  That feature is the main reason why I purchased Studio Pro.  I am not sure if taking it away is the best choice.  Are you planning to have an alternate way to veiw results?  I know that you mentioned the Scorm or other LMS options, but this is not something we can implement at this time and your Studio Pro with the email results feature allowed us a work around.

When do you expect the 2013 version to be released?

Thanks,

Justin Wilcox

Hi Kelly.

As Justin mentioned, we are no longer developing the email results feature for current and future products. Particularly with a large user base for a quiz, I would strongly recommend using one of the suggested methods for tracking results. To host and deliver Articulate content, and to track user progress, we recommend using Articulate Online, which supports one-click publishing from Articulate authoring tools, and offers super-easy reporting capabilities. You can learn more about Articulate Online here:

http://www.articulate.com/products/articulate-online.php

You can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Articulate Online here:

If Articulate Online does not meet your needs, you can track Articulate content in any SCORM- or AICC-compliant Learning Management System (LMS). Here are some low cost LMS you might want to consider:

Using an LMS or Articulate Online will allow you to securely transmit quiz data and also allow for easier and more robust reporting. We don't have a release date for the next version of Studio but it is coming very soon.

Regarding your inability to submit a feature request, what was specifically wrong? The form is working fine for me. Typically if you can't use a form on our website it is due to overly restrictive settings in Internet Explorer. In Tools -> Internet Options under the Security and Privacy tabs, those should be set to their Default settings (you know this is the case if you can't select Default).

Justin,

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.  So, the ability to track the results are still available, but it has to be used with some sort of LMS system, but doesn't have to be Articulate Online.  Good to know.

As far as submitting an idea, it was when I put in the number for "prove you are human".  Once I entered a number, it cancelled my information out.  If that makes sense?

Thanks again for your help and I plan to look into the LMS ideas.
