Content on Replay will not open...

Feb 09, 2018

Hello, try to gather some information here as I am just starting to use Articulate. I wanted to put an edited video together with footage and pictures I gathered on my GoPro. I started making the project and even finished and then saved it and closed out of Replay. A few hours later I went back to that project and tried to open it, and got a message that it was "Invalid or corrupt and could not open," and also that "it may have been made on a newer or older version of Replay", which was obviously not the case.

Any ideas on what may be going on? Note that I used the same GoPro to make similar project that same week and I was able to create it, save it, close out, and still reopen it with no issues. This morning I even published the project successfully, however the others are still saying they are unable to open. These were projects for work and so having Replay was beneficial since I don't have Adobe Premier or anything like that. Thanks for any feedback!

Hello. I have just experienced this problem. But in Articulate Replay. The replay file was saved on my desktop (that is, C: ) And I made an extra copy. I then worked on it for 30 minutes, and no problem. And now, 5 hours later ... it no longer works. Two questions:

1. Why would this happen..

2. More importantly for my deadline on Thurs ... how can I make it work again?

Hi Satish.  That sounds really stressful.

When you say it no longer works, are you getting an error message when trying to open it?  Can you share one (or better yet, both) copy of your .replay file here so I can see if I can open it?

If Replay is giving you trouble with more than one file, you can try these steps to repair it.

Hello Crystal

I received help yesterday from Gerald Sale. He retrieved the video mpeg file from the Replay file which I sent to him. Since then, I took the following steps.

* I re-imported into Replay.
* Sadly, when I save the Replay project and then later open it again, I receive the same message: that the project is invalid or corrupt, etc.
* So, reimported the mpeg file, then punblished the Replay project to an mp4
* Imported the mp4 into replay, saved it, then tried to open later. But same message

For some reason Replay cannot save a file, then re-open it on my computers: laptop, and a stationary one.

I have decided to give up using Replay for a while, and am now editing the exported mp4 file with A mac video editing program.

My best,
Satish
