Add audio (mp3) files to a slide with controls (play, pause) and a seek bar

Nov 30, 2022

I want to add an audio file to my slide and when I preview the slide, the audio automatically starts playing when the timeline reaches it. But I don't want the audio to play automically. I want it to be paused and have controls of play to be clicked for the audio to be played and a seek bar that is used to go forward or backward in the audio. I saw a 10 year old discussion where the suggestions were convert mp3 to swf or mp4 but none of these work for me in Storyline 360. What should I do to have something like this:

Hello Manik,

Thanks for reaching out!

You can control exactly when an audio file on your slide will play by using the 'Play media' trigger. Here's a screenshot of how I'd set this up:

While there isn't a built-in feature that you can use to show a seekbar for an audio file other than the seekbar in the Player, you can check out this solution shared by a member of the community which addresses a design inquiry similar to yours:

I’ll be happy to pass your design requirement on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!
