Adding a "close course"-button to tablet view menu?

Dec 07, 2017

Hey.

I am currently working on a number of eLearning courses that needs to be viewed on Android tablets. Our LMS company has supplied us with an app that can display our courses.

However, because we import the courses through SCORM packages, we have chosen to disable the LMS menu bar in exchange for keeping the menu from Storyline, which allows the user to navigate through the chapters.

This however presents me with a problem... The LMS menu bar has a "close course"-button, but the Storyline menu bar doesn't, and that is not viable, since some of the tablets are being shared between multiple users, and they each need to log on and off.

Therefore, I was wondering if there is any way to add a "close course"-button to the tablet view menu visible on the right side (see attached image)? Perhaps under the menu button with the three lines?

I already tried adding a "exit course"-trigger through the player and Features tab, but that option isn't displayed on tablets, only on computers...

Best regards,
Jesper Pedersen

Hi Jesper,

The exit course trigger in Storyline 360 and Storyline 3 doesn't work in all HTML5 browsers due to browser limitations. See this article for a list of browsers that support the exit course trigger.

Exiting the course may just shut down the browser and not automatically log the user out, so you'd also want to check that if your users will be sharing tablets.
