Adding slides to pre-recorded lectures in storyline 2

Sep 05, 2016

I am new to storyline 2. I have many existing audio lectures on wav files to which I must add slides to create a training program.  What is the best way to accomplish this? I need the slides to change according to the timeline of the audio.  In other words, I need the audio timeline to be the trigger for the slide transitions.  It's impractical to cut the audio into individual snippets for the slides, as the slide transition points could change, based on input from the client.

I'd recommend you visit the SL knowledgebase and read up on layers and triggers (Show Layer specifically). You can set a trigger to show a layer at a certain time (seconds) of the slide's time line.

Before any SL I'd invite you to check out some of design areas of the forums as SL really shines when you make things a bit more interactive and/or visually interesting. With a bit of creativity and some basic SL you can make the learner's experience just that bit better... My two cents.

Hi Elaine and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Looks like Brian has popped in to assist you here and I thought I'd share some tutorials.

Layers are a powerful way to add interactivity and branched scenarios to your Articulate Storyline courses. See this tutorial for details.

Triggers perform actions at specified times. They're key to building interactivity in Articulate Storyline courses, and we've made them super easy to use. See this tutorial to learn how.
