If a PDF file linked via a button in a SL2 course can't be coded with the native SL "jump to URL/file" trigger (we are using custom JS instead) and then be found in the "external_files" folder after publication, is it possible to add that folder manually after publication, place the PDF into it, and use the path to the file as your button link in the JS code? Is any additional coding needed to make that function? Thanks.
I've seen this brought up a few times recently, and although it's a bit outside the scope of support, I did want to point to this article. It's in the same vein as what you're trying to accomplish so at least would help nail down what is possible based on that behavior.
