Another Tabs Discussion

Sep 23, 2020

Using a template with tabs in Storyline 360, I have added audio to each tab.  The base also has audio.  If the tabs are clicked while on the base layer, the other audios will play, all on top of each other.  How can I stop that?  I have tried to hide the base layer, but it removes the tabs.

We do have it set so if on a tab and another tab is clicked, the original playing audio stops and the other starts, but how can we duplicate this on the base layer?  I just can't seem to get the right combination.  Thanks!

Assuming this is correct:

  1. The base layer has audio
  2. the tab layer has audio
  3. you click a tab and the tab audio and base layer audio play on top of each other

There are a few ways to do this:

  • You could put a trigger on each tab to stop/pause media when it's clicked. That should stop the base layer audio.
  • You could go into the layer and in the properties pause the timeline of the base layer
  • You could put the base layer audio on its own layer

Here's a quick tutorial that shows some ideas.
