Articulate Storyline 1 - Install Wizard Issue

OS = Windows 7 SP1 32 bit
A member of my team is trying to update from SL1 update 5 to the latest version SL1 update 8. The install wizard brings up the following message. "It appears you have Articulate Storyline running make sure Articulate Storyline is closed, then run this install again.
We have checked in the task manager and there are no Articulate Storyline shown as running. We have rebooted the laptop and tried again and same error message. We have then tried the steps are mentioned on the support pages http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/unexpected-or-erratic-behavior-in-articulate-storyline
We are not able to uninstall Articulate as we are getting the same error as above. Have downloaded the zip file and run slCleanup.bat file, and select Run as administrator. Then rebooted the laptop and tried again, same error message appears. Any help would be appreciated as we are about to uninstall Adobe will full administration rights and then see if this will allow up to update Articulate.

Hi Gerard,
It may be best to connect with our Support engineers here as when I've heard similar accounts as what you described here it's been associated with moving the original install files (and therefore the uninstall can't find them).
