Articulate Update for Internet Explorer 10 and 11

Jun 27, 2019

We have posted a link to Storyline templates on our intranet site, when we go to download the template in Explorer 10 and 11 the .storyline files open as a zip folder. It works fine when downloading the templates via Chrome. Do you know what I need to do at my end> This is occurring throughout our organisation.

Hi Angela,

The .story or the .storytemplate is the source file you'll need to edit and some browsers change the extension to .zip, although I'm not sure why.

One of these methods may work to open as a .story file from IE10/11:

  1. Extract the zip file and look for the file .story
  2. Right-click and rename the .zip to .story if you are sure the source file is there
  3. From the place you are downloading it, before download right click and do "save link as" and it should allow you to change to .story file.

Hope one of those help!
