Base layer image appears on slide layer even when base layer is hidden?

Mar 21, 2017

Hi everyone,

I am hoping that someone will be able to assist me again with another issue I'm having within Storyline 2.

Everything on the attached slide is working as planned EXCEPT the following.

I have an "instruction" object on the base layer with a "hidden" state. When all necessary objects on the base layer have been changed to state of "visited", I have a trigger set to change the object state to "Normal".

Each layer is marked to "Hide objects on base layer". However, when my "instruction" object changes to "Normal" state (as designed), this object that appears on the base layer is visible on the final layer. Any ideas why this is happening and how I can have this "instruction" object disappear as it is supposed to when the layer is being viewed? I've attached the slide here for reference. Again, everything else is working as designed (where all layers have to be viewed before you can advance to the next screen). I just cannot figure out why the instruction object is visible when the last layer is being viewed.

Hello Jennifer - Thanks for sharing your file and allowing us to take a look. That's certainly not the expected behavior.

I found a similar issue reported that was directly related to the Flash output, so I published your file to test this theory and it seems that it is the same.

Viewing the HTML5 version of your course provides the results you are expecting to see.

I will add this thread to our report so that we can prioritize, track user impact, and update here when applicable.
