Beginner doubts

Feb 04, 2016

Hello,

I am starting to explore the Articulate Storyline and I have a few questions/doubts that I hope someone could help me (note: I am not a designer nor a developer so I am not that familarized with technical language):

1. Is the trial version of Storyline the exact reflect of what I will get if I buy the license? Or are there any additional features that only appear with the original?

2. The license of Storyline mentioned in the website is an annual license?

3. How many computers can have the Articulate Storyline installed once I buy the license?

4. If I develop an e-learning using the trial version, but then decide not to buy the license, will it be available for other users to do the course, or open in other program, since it is saved in an HTML and SWF format?

5. More in terms of content, how can I set an intial box, right in the beginning of the course, where the user should write her/his name? This would later one be included in the next point I present (certificate)

6. Moreover, is it possible to add and give the option to print a certificate of completion of a course when users pass on the final exam of the course, with their name and maybe with the current date? I've been searching for this option in the community but I didn't have any luck so far.

I hope the questions above are not too obvious, but once again I am not an expert in this program (yet!).

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Hi Mariana!

Yes, the trial version is the full version of the software without the license. Once you purchase the license, the software is yours. A license is per user and that user can have the software installed on two computers. You could still utilize the published version of the course you make using the trial version if you wish.

You can obtain information from the learners in data entry fields to use within your course if you wish. Check out some information here.

Articulate Storyline doesn't support certificates of completion. However, you may be able to modify the report.html file in your published output to make it look like a certificate. Here's how.

I hope that helps :)

Thank you so much for the answers "storyliners"! It helped me a lot! You two were the best! :)

By the way, maybe you can also help me with one more thing: Regarding the Articulate Online that allows me to have my course in an online server and to monitor results, what exactly are the content itens? Are they the slides of a project? or the layers? Or something else I am not getting? This is important to me since I am considering to subscribe the Articulate Online and I might need to take that into consideration when developing my project.

Thank you once again!
