Bug when saving projects after update 2

Jan 02, 2013

Hello,

The same day I installed the update 2 I started to encounter problems when saving the Storyline project I am currently working on. From time to time, when I click the saving button I get the following error message: "impossible to create an existing file" (?), when I try again, sometimes it says: "access denied" and sometimes it works (!). When it doesn't,  the only solution I have is to "save it as"... and rename it. Then it works but it is really disturbing! What should I do? Remove and reinstall the first version of the program?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Welcome to Heroes, Vassili!

That sounds like some pretty unusual behavior. I'd start by running through the incremental troubleshooting steps found in this article, paying special attention to the section on making sure you work from a local drive, as opposed to a network or USB drive. Let us know if anything helps...

Thanks!

Hello Peter,

Thank you for your reply,

I finally managed to find out that it was due to a conflict with the google drive synch process... If I pause it before saving the projects, the problem stops...

But now I have another problem, I am unable to use the Studio audio-synch tool on my brand new computer running Windows 8... When I click on "start synchronization" the button just "startle" but nothing happens... I have to move the project to my old computer running W7 to make it work. So, it clearly seems to be a compatibility issue with W8; any idea how to fix that?

Thanks,
