bug with return mask ?

Sep 13, 2022

hello

there is something that I don't understand with the return masks: for example I modify the correct return mask by modifying its design and especially by removing the "continue" button which for me is useless since I replace it with a delay (one click less for the student).

jfor that I hid the button in the return mask then then the same for the "correct" mask

and yet every time I edit a correct layer, that button comes back. The only solution I see is to put this button outside the slide.

what is the problem? it's not the first time that objects come back when I asked not to see them anymore

thanks

Hello Francois,

Thanks for reaching out!

My apologies, but I am quite unfamiliar with the term 'return mask' in Storyline 360. I'll need your help to address your concern properly. Would you mind sending screenshots of these 'return masks' that you are referring to?

It looks like you're trying to hide a button in some of your slides. If this is the case, would you be willing to upload a copy of your project file here or through a support case so we can check why the buttons are not staying hidden?

Francois,

I think that Joe is looking for the term feedback layer. At least I think that is what you are asking about.

You said

every time I edit a correct layer, that button comes back. The only solution I see is to put this button outside the slide.

If you are using the form view to edit the text of the feedback layers, this is expected behavior. The Correct, Incorrect, and Try Again layers all come from the Feedback master layout. Every time you change that text message, a new layer is created, and it is built on the feedback master. That is why you see the button again.

You are correct - the best way to remove the button is to drag it off the slide.  If you drag it off from the master, I think it should be off on new layers your create.
