Building a "create your own adventure" course question

Jun 02, 2014

I have built an inactive course in which students can basically chose different options which will result in multiple endings.  I have four main scenarios to begin with, and I want them to explore at least two of the scenarios (student's choice).  How can I get the course to be marked as complete if the student explores two scenarios and not every slide?

Hi Nancy,

There are a couple different ways you could handle this - the easiest of which would be to branch all the users back to some final slides that they need to view, and use those specific slides to track the course as described here.

If you need to report more specific results, there are a few other threads where users have discussed how they set this up (either using variables, multiple results slides, etc.) so you'll want to review those here and here.

I have now set the criteria as you have described above.  I have basically disguised four freeform "pick one" slides as ending slides that all loop back to a disguised "results slide."  However, one of the ending freeform slides will not submit the interaction.  I have deleted the slide and recreated it, but it still will not work.  When I look at the slide in story view, it seems the slide has a trigger to jump to a different slide than the results slide.  I adjusted the triggers but nothing changed.  I have now deleted all triggers, buttons, and removed the freeform question (see attached image). The storyline should stop after Slide 1.21, but something is directing it to Slide 1.22.  Please help!
