Button Changes after Import Translation

Dec 17, 2015

While creating a Articulate Storyline file in a new language from the original, a problem has occurred after the importing of the language file. Now, the buttons on each page requires a double-click, yet the trigger is set for one click. Also all the text is a hyperlink. Is there a way to fix both issues?

Hi Emily,

As far as the hyperlink element it sounds like some additional formatting came through with the translation, so you may want to double check the file you used to import and see if there were formatting changes there. You'll also want to confirm you're working on local project files as described here.

If you continue to have odd behavior, can you share the .story file here with us?

Ashley,

It happened to four different files. I exported the original English text, ran it through the translator and imported it back into the file. During this process, I did not change any of the formatting and the translation document does not have any hyperlinks embedded.

I found this article that sort of helps. But is there a faster way to remove the hyperlinks in the entire document? Or a way to prevent it from being imported into the file?

However, my main concern is about the buttons. I need them to be triggered by only one click (like the setting I have selected), yet for some reason the translated versions of the documents require two now. Do you have any advice about that?

Hi Emily,

Glad that discussion was helpful - there isn't a way to change it across the .story file, so you'd want to double check the individual .doc file as that is likely where it's coming from. Without seeing it it's hard to say - but I wouldn't expect things to be importing as Hyperlinks as a defaut.

I haven't seen that in regards to the buttons though, so I'd want to take a look at the .story file to see if it's I'm able see anything off in the file. Can you share it here with us?
