Can I made a slide master from an existing slide?

Jun 19, 2014

I only just started using this software, and I've mainly been copying my first slide to maintain all the shapes and formatting I put on it. Is there a way to use this slide to make a slide master instead?

Hi, Karen, and welcome!

You actually have a couple of options: creating a Slide Master, or creating a Template.  Either of them can consist of one slide or multiple slides.

If you're looking to take a single slide that will serve as the background/default formatting for all the slides in your course, then creating a Slide Master might be the way to go:  http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/using-slide-masters.aspx

If you have a slide or slides that you want to re-use regularly and just tweak elements, then creating a template and adding it to your library might be more appropriate: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/using-and-creating-storyline-templates.aspx

I'd suggest you read both of those tutorial pages, and then decide which approach best meets your needs.  If this answer solves your problem, please mark this entry as the Verified Answer so that others will know this question has been resolved.

Hope this helps!

I was able to copy all the shapes and logos from a slide and paste them into a blank layout template. However, the tutorial page does not mention this, and there isn't an option to turn an existing slide into a template. I got the impression that I would have to manually redraw one of my slides into a blank layout. Also, your second link doesn't work.

Thank for the help anyway.
