I've just started working for a new client who would like me to use IMS instead of SCORM as their MOODLE version is 2.5 but it doesn't let me upload my SCORM packages. I am not much of a programmer so I don't know what to tell them.
I do not know whether or not Storyline may create such output and package. This is why I am writing: To find a solution or an action path so my employer can have news ASAP.
Moodle does have an IMS resource type but this is a read-only method - some SCORM 1.2 packages can be added as IMS resources in Moodle but the IMS resource doesn't do any tracking or reporting - it just displays the content package for the user.
If they are asking for IMS packages in Moodle they may not actually require tracking/reporting - they may just want to display the content to the learners. If they want to report/track users they will need to use SCORM.

For moodle I would publish to Scorm 1.2

Moodle really only supports Scorm 1.2 2.5 should give you access to the scorn interactiion reporting
