Can't open imported Ppt slides

Jan 04, 2016

Please help! I've imported slides from PowerPoint to create Storyline 2 presentations in the past without any difficulty. I am again creating a new Storyline 2 presentation using an imported Ppt slide set, but this time I'm having a puzzling problem. The imported presentation looks fine on the screen and will save as a .story file, but when I later go to open the file and continue work on it Storyline2 tells me that it cannot open the file because "This file is invalid or corrupt and cannot be openend. It may have been created in an earlier version of Storyline." The thing is, I just created the file in SL2 so I don't understand why it isn't re-opening after the slides loaded just fine. I started fresh with a new blank presentation - same thing: will save but then will not re-open. I really need to get this functioning ASAP - any advice?

Hi Davoren

are you working locally - do you have the ppt presentation and storyline file on your local drive?

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
  • Make sure you don't have the file open in another instance of Storyline.
