I create a Storyline file, and go to Player, and check captions. It in the view, right side, the caption icon shows, but after publishing and playing, the caption doesn't show up. Any ideas of why that might be?
When you select an audio track, the Options menu item is available. If you click Options you get the ability to add captions. You need to paste your text into these captions. The only import ability is to import from special caption files.
Ok, thank you so much. This helps. I'm wondering if it's needed, if we have the text in our Notes tab on the left. Not sure if having it both places is really a benefit.

The icon only shows if the slide you're looking at has audio on it. Is that what is happening or do you have audio on the slide?
All the slides have audio on them.
Can you share a slide that isn't displaying the CC so I can take a look?
Here you go
They have audio but no captions. I added captions to the first slide and the icon came up just fine.
So it doesn't take the text from the notes section? I have to import it from a Word Doc or how did you do it?

I typically copy/paste from my audio script file.

When I have used caption I wasn't using notes on the slides. It's really audience preference.
