Clicking a marker is causing Storyline to crash

Jul 19, 2012

Has anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it?  I have a slide in my story that has eight markers.  When I click on one to edit it, I get the pop-up saying Storyline has crashed and to close the program.

When I first created the slide, I was able to edit the markers and the slide without issue.  Today, I am not able to edit a marker without it crashing.  I just click on a marker to see it expand, and then it crashes.  At that point, I hadn't even had a chance to make edits.

Update:  After the 3rd crash on this slide, I was able to update one of the markers (changing the displayed info from blue background to purple on #7 marker) by clicking on the marker in the timeline.  I still need to edit marker #2 by adding an image.

I'm attaching a shortened version of the story file.  The marker slide still causing crashes.

Hi Laura,

You could copy all of your markers except for number 2 and basically create a new marker slide. You would have to recreate marker 2 from scratch since it crashes no matter what you do when trying to select it. I would then delete the old marker slide altogether. I don't know what happened to make it crash all the time when you go near it.

Hope this helps,

Adrian

This only happened with the Safety module I was working on.  Sorry for the grumble up above.  The markers as a whole work beautifully, but I was having trouble with this slide.  I don't know if it had to do with cutting and pasting from an Engage file.

Thanks for your help. I'm glad to get this project completed.  It wasn't my favorite as I was only retrofitting a Studio module to Storyline.
